After a long off-season, the San Francisco Giants are back. They will have to answer some tough questions if they hope to win another World Series in 2017.

It’s been a long four months, but baseball — and the San Francisco Giants — are finally back. Well, almost back. There’s just over a week remaining until pitchers and catchers report, and then the baseball really gets rolling.

With Spring comes the speculation, the rankings, and a whole host of guessing games. I am not above any of that, and will be more than happy to provide such things during the course of the upcoming baseball preseason. As speculative as it all is, it is pivotal to the success of the team that they and their fans know where they stand heading into a 162-game campaign.

The San Francisco Giants are a team that needs to figure many things out this upcoming season. Their even year magic finally seems to have finally run out, as they defeated the New York Mets in the National League Wildcard and then lost a thrilling series against the eventual World Series  champion Chicago Cubs.

The Giants are in a similar boat as the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets heading into 2017.

These are three teams with many nationally known superstars and heaps of young talent that makes them consistently competitive. But all three were unable to string everything together like the Cleveland Indians or Chicago Cubs did last year. Obviously, it takes some good luck too, but the Giants have never struggled to find some magic in clutch moments.
