College football is finally back! After another long offseason, the season got started with a colorful matchup: the California Golden Bears and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. The two teams kicked off in ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia.

For the third straight season, the Cal Bears opened their season with a win in week one, running through Hawaii’s defense for a 51-31. Much like their modus operandi in previous seasons, they outgunned Hawaii offensively, putting up a lot points in a hurry. Despite gaining a lot of yards themselves, the Rainbow Warriors just couldn’t keep up.

It’s only week one, so there will be a lot to fix moving forward. Friday night’s opening contest was far from perfect, and the tape will show that the Bears have a long way to go if they want to even be competitive in what should be another tough year in the Pac-12.

The Cal Bears do have one thing working for them: they won’t have to travel 7,400 miles to another game this season. But with that said, let’s take a look at five things from Friday night’s win.
