The San Francisco 49ers have whittled their roster down to 53 guys, including some veterans who were fully expected to make the team.
The biggest of those names is versatile offensive lineman Adam Snyder. With plenty of questions on the offensive line — including the status of Alex Boone and the injury to Marcus Martin — he could have been useful this season.
All three quarterbacks made the 53-man roster, which was a point of contention throughout the preseason, although Jim Harbaugh had expressed his interest in keeping all three after the San Francisco 49ers’ final preseason game.
There are plenty of receivers who had question marks as well, such as Steve Johnson, Quinton Patton, and Brandon Lloyd, all of whom made the roster. There are rumors that one or two of the veterans may have been cut to avoid paying their full guaranteed money and could be signed in a few days or two to non-guaranteed contracts.
Lastly, practice-squad eligible players are marked with an asterisk. These players must pass through waivers first. There are 10 spots available on the practice squad.
