Sacramento Kings: Rudy Gay Opts-In To His Player Option

It has been reported that small forward Rudy Gay has decided to opt-in to his 19.3 million dollar player option, which will make him a Sacramento King for the 2014-2015 season.

It seems that the Kings’ efforts to get Gay to stay a King have worked, and now they will be looking forward to getting him to re-sign to a multiple year deal. Gay will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season, so while there is time for the Kings to strike a deal with Rudy, Sacramento would like to know they have longevity at their three spot sooner rather than later.

Now with the Gay dilemma on cruise control until they can get a deal arranged, the Kings can now focus on the NBA Draft and free agency coming up in just three days. The next big dilemma, after the draft, will be deciding on the team’s future with point guard Isaiah Thomas.
