The pick is in! The Oakland Raiders have selected Khalil Mack with the #5 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. The linebacker out of Buffalo posted incredible stats during his career in college and holds  the FBS record (NCAA Division 1) for most tackles for loss with 75 and forced fumbles with 16.

He should come in and be an immediate starter for the Oakland Raiders, and we would be very surprised if he isn’t. The Oakland Raiders organization should be very happy with Mack, who was ranked #1 by NFL.com’s Mike Mayock in his overall prospect rankings. Obviously he’s not the be-all end-all, but the fact he got better grades than #1 overall pick Jadaveon Clowney from some people speaks volumes as to this kid’s potential.

Like we’ve said before, the biggest knock on him is the level of competition that he faced while at Buffalo. Well, he will get his chance now to prove he belongs, and hopefully he can be a nightmare for Peyton Manning, Alex Smith, and the rest of the NFL for years to come.

And if the pick doesn’t get you excited, check out this quick profile of him!
