San Francisco Giants Place 8 Position Players On All-Star Ballot

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, who set a National League record in 2012 with more than 7.6 million All-Star votes, is among eight Giants position players named Friday to the 2014 All-Star ballot.

The All-Star Game is set for July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis.

Posey, a two-time All-Star, is on the ballot at catcher, along with outfielder Hunter Pence (an All-Star in 2009 and 2011) and third baseman Pablo Sandoval (2011-12).

Other Giants on the ballot include first baseman Brandon Belt, second baseman Marco Scutaro, shortstop Brandon Crawford, left fielder Michael Morse and center fielder Angel Pagan.

Of that quintet, only Scutaro has been in the All-Star Game previously, as he was selected last year.

Voting is available online until 8:59 p.m. on July 3 and voting will be available at AT&T Park from May 12 through June 15.

Teams will be unveiled the weekend of July 5-6.
