Center Chad Lindsay has narrowed his list to five programs he will consider transferring to after starting four games for the Alabama Crimson Tide last fall and the Cal Golden Bears are one of the schools he is considering.
According to CBSSports.com, Lindsay has already been to Michigan, Louisville and Oklahoma and is still planning visits to Ohio State and Cal. He graduated and can play immediately upon transferring after opting to leave the Alabama program before spring practice.
Cal could certainly use some help on the offensive line. The Golden Bears surrendered 34 sacks last season and the running game managed just 3.5 yards per carry.
Cal is bringing back Jordan Rigsbee, who has started the last 24 games, including the final eight game in 2013 at center after beginning the year at left guard. He shifted to center after Chris Adcock sustained a season ending injury. Other offensive linemen with starting experience returning to the program are right tackle Steven Moore (11 starts in 2013), right guard Alejandro Crosthwaite (nine), left tackle Christian Okafor (five), left guard Chris Borrayo (five), Adcock (five), right guard Matt Cochran (three) and Brian Farley (two).
