The Oakland Raiders have brought in a lot of new blood on defense since the beginning of free agency, but on Friday they brought back one of their incumbents, re-signing defensive tackle Pat Sims to a one-year deal.
The signing was first announced via Twitter by Sims’ agent, Rick Smith:
Happy for Pat Sims who just re-signed with the @RAIDERS for one year.

Sims started all 16 games for the Raiders in 2013 after signing as a free agent last spring. He had a career-high 54 tackles and also logged two sacks.
The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Sims spent his first five seasons with the Bengals, starting 23 games while playing in 60, logging five sacks and an interception.
He was a third-round pick by Cincinnati out of Auburn in 2008. Sims ranked 17th among defensive tackles with a 14.7 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus.
