Pacific Tigers Roll On To CIT Semifinals With Win Over WCC Rival San Diego

The Pacific Tigers rolled into the semifinals of the Postseason Tournament, avenging a 15-point loss to the San Diego Toreros at the Spanos Center on Feb. 15 with a 75-60 win Wednesday night.

The Tigers (18-15) have won their last two games by double-digits at home after struggling to get past Grand Canyon in the first round.

Yale also advanced to the semifinals with a win over Columbia on Wednesday and VMI upset Ohio on the road to advance. The quarterfinals close Thursday when Towson visits Murray State. The semifinals will be played Tuesday with the championship set for April 3.

Andrew Bock matched his season high with 23 points for the Tigers. Tony Gill added 18 points and 11 rebounds and Sama Taku scored 10 points.

Duda Sanadze led the Toreros (18-17) with 16 points. Christopher Anderson had 10 points and six assists, while Jito Kok and Johnny Dee each grabbed six rebounds.

San Diego was 20-for-54 (37 percent) overall, 2-for-20 (10 percent) from 3-point range and 18-for-23 (78.3 percent) at the free-throw line. Pacific was 24-for-50 (48 percent), 6-for-12 (50 percent) and 21-for-29 (72.4 percent).
