Free agent cornerback Mike Jenkins, who spent last season with the Oakland Raiders, has signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Bucs announced the signing via their official website on Thursday.
The Raiders did not pursue Jenkins and he is returning to his roots—he is a Bradenton, Fla., native who played collegiately in Tampa at South Florida.
Jenkins, 28, was a Pro Bowler in 2009 with the Cowboys after making five interceptions and defensing 19 passes. He signed with the Raiders last April after his contract expired in Dallas.
He had two interceptions, one forced fumble, six passes defensed and 65 tackles, starting 15 games for Oakland.
For his career, he has 10 picks.
