The Oakland Raiders announced Thursday they have signed former All-Pro defensive end Justin Tuck.

Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reported via Twitter that the deal is for two years and $11 million:

Tuck had 11 sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, three passes defensed and 63 tackles for the New York Giants in 2013. The sack total was his highest since he had 12 sacks in 2008, when he was an All-Pro selection.

Tuck was part of two Super Bowl winning teams with the Giants and spent nine years in New York in all. He has 60.5 career sacks and was selected to two Pro Bowls.

Tuck told reporters that he’s looking forward to coming to Oakland and likes the organization’s future.

“I like the direction that this team is talking about going in and I just want to be a part of it,” Tuck said in a conference call (h/t ESPN.com). “Obviously, everyone knows the history of the Raiders and I just want to be a part of the group that brings it back.”

Tuck said he was already playing recruiter for the Silver and Black, saying he talked to free agent linebacker LaMarr Woodley and defensive tackle Jason Hatcher about joining him by the Bay.

He apparently batted .500. Woodley reportedly has agreed to terms with the Raiders, while Hatcher has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Redskins.

Tuck, who will be 31 on March 29, was originally drafted in the third round in 2005 by the Giants out of Notre Dame.
