Report: CB Chris Cook Visiting San Francisco 49ers Thursday

According to a report, the San Francisco 49ers will be hosting former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook on Thursday.

The Sacramento Bee reported the visit late Wednesday.

The 49ers released Carlos Rogers earlier this week and Tarell Brown is still unsigned as a free agent, but the team did bring back Eric Wright on Tuesday.

Cook, 27, would be the biggest corner on the 49ers roster. At 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds, Cook did not have an interception in four seasons with Minnesota. Last season he started 11 of the 12 games in which he played, defensing two passes and making 47 tackles while battling groin and knee injuries.

Cook was a second-round pick by the Vikings out of Virginia in 2010 but has had trouble staying on the field—last season’s 12 games and 11 starts were career highs.
