Saffold was slowed by injuries the last three seasons after starting all 16 games at left tackle for the St. Louis Rams as a rookie in 2010. He was limited to 12 games and nine starts last season, starting at both tackle spots and also seeing some time at right guard.
The 6-foot-4, 312-pound Saffold was a second-round pick of the Rams out of Indiana in 2010.
The Rams wanted to bring Saffold back, according to reports, but wanted to move him to guard.
