Free agency doesn’t officially begin until Tuesday. The NFL Draft is two months away. We don’t even have schedules for 2014 yet. But we have NFL over-under odds, thanks to the folks as Las Vegas-based CG Technology.
The firm, formerly known as Cantor Gaming, released the earliest-ever odds on future NFL action, beating the MGM Grand’s release of future win projections and odds from 2011 by, oh, four months or so. (h/t CBSSports.com)
The win total is set as an over-under proposition bet.
The projections are conservative (better to promote action from being who like to make friendly wagers on things), with the San Francisco 49ers one of three teams with an over-under of 11 wins, along with the Denver Broncos and the (grumble) defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
At the other end of the spectrum, the Oakland Raiders’ over-under mark of five is the second-lowest on the board, just ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars at 4.5.
The people at CG Technologies are apparently bullish on the chances that new coach Bill O’Brien turns around the Houston Texans—the Texans over-under is 8.5 wins, just a season removed from going 2-14 and losing their last 14 games.
So for gamblers who want to get in early, here ya go. Or you might, I don’t know, want to hang back until you have a clearer idea of a few minor details … such as who will and won’t be on the roster.
