The Sacramento Kings have expanded their experimentation with Google Glass, with the club releasing a new video featuring Rudy Gay, coach Michael Malone, Jason Thompson and Ray McCallum as they wear the specs and record what they see during a practice session.
Gay, in particular, shows off some jumpers as he sees them and wow … talk about a first-person shooter.
The Kings started implementing Google Glass in various applications in January and I’ve got to say that seeing the first-person view of a dunk was—for someone with serious vertical challenges—pretty amazing to experience.
Maybe they can use Google Glass to put some more pizzazz into All-Star Weekend. I’ve got to think a first-person view of some of the best dunkers in the world would add a new layer to an event that continues to just feel stale.
