San Francisco Giants’ Cactus League Game With Cubs Postponed By ... Grounds Crew

Mother Nature was willing, but the grounds crew at Cubs Park in Mesa, Ariz., had other plans.

Saturday’s scheduled Cactus League game between the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs was postponed after the grounds crew emptied the tarp into center field after rain stopped, which created large, unplayable puddles in the infield dirt.

“I was shocked,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy told CSNBayArea.com. “I don’t know what happened.”

The Giants are scheduled to host the Arizona Diamondbacks at Scottsdale Stadium Sunday at 12:05 p.m. Pacific.
