Dylan Garrity rained 3s all night, hitting 8-of-16 en route to a career-high 26 points, but the Sacramento State Hornets were dominated in the second half of an 80-67 loss to the Idaho State Bengals at Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho, Saturday night.
Garrity scored 11 points in the first half for the Hornets (13-14, 9-9 Big Sky Conference), who led by as many as nine points in the half before settling for a 36-32 lead at the break.
But the Bengals (11-16, 8-10) took the lead with a 12-0 second-half run and steadily pulled away from Sacramento State, closing the game with 10 unanswered points.
Sacramento State was 24-for-59 (40.7 percent) overall, 10-for-26 (38.5 percent) from long range and 9-for-19 (47.4 percent) from the line. Idaho State was 23-for-50 (46 percent), 5-for-16 (31.3 percent) and 29-for-37 (78.5 percent).
The Bengals held a 42-31 edge on the class. The Hornets turned the ball over 10 times, while Idaho State gave it away 12 times.
Sacramento State returns home for its final two games of the regular season, beginning Thursday night when they host Montana at 7 p.m.
