In this episode of the Kings’ Court Podcast we talk about the many things leading up to tonight’s game with the Chicago Bulls and the options that are open for the Kings at the trade deadline. A bold statement was made on Friday’s podcast, that I predicted that the Kings could be shopping their starting point guard Isaiah Thomas. The reason I have stated that the Kings could trade Thomas is because Isaiah is a restricted free agent at the end of the season and Thomas has also played himself into some money. With the Kings still in the rebuilding stages of their franchise, decisions will have to be made in what directions they are going to go in.
After making a possible trade scenario, we move on to the next topic, the Kings hoping their franchise center piece–DeMarcus Cousins–can return back for Monday’s matchup against the Bulls. Since the Kings lost their prized big man, the team has been in a seven-game losing slump. Prior to the injury the Kings were really playing well, going on a three-game winning streak by beating the league’s reigning champs, the Miami Heat. Now on this losing streak without Cousins, they have to hope he can return and break them out of this losing streak and get them out of the Western Conference basement.
To round out the podcast I will be answering all of the questions that you have given me through the weekend. For more Kings news, articles, and podcasts or to get your questions on the show; be sure to follow me on twitter (@VMCENTER) and also subscribe to the show!
