Sacramento Kings Recall Ray McCallum From D-League

The Sacramento Kings announced Tuesday they had recalled rookie guard Ray McCallum from the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League.

According to the announcement, McCallum will join the Kings in New Orleans in time for Tuesday’s game against the Pelicans.

McCallum was assigned to Reno on Jan. 13 and averaged 18.5 points 4.8 assists, 2.5 steals, 2.3 rebounds and 34.3 minutes per game in four games. McCallum is averaging 20 points per game in seven games with the Bighorns this year.

He hasn’t gotten much playing time with Sacramento this season. McCallum didn’t make his NBA debut until Dec. 6 and has played just 22 minutes in eight games for the Kings. The second-round draft pick out of the University of Detroit has seven points, four rebounds and two assists on 3-of-9 shooting, including 1-for-4 from 3-point range.
