Former Weston Ranch High and UC Santa Barbara star James Nunnally will be signed to a second 10-day contract by the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, according to several sources.
Nunnally played one game in London during the Hawks’ 127-110 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Nunnally scored five points, shot 2-of-3 from the floor, including 1-for-2 behind the 3-point line. He also blocked one shot in eight minutes of play.
The 6’7″ forward was called up from the NBA Development League’s Bakersfield Jam for his first 10-day contract after averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 19 games for the Jam this season. He also shot 41.5 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
Due to NBA rules, after a second 10-day contract is completed, the Hawks will either have to sign Nunnally for the remainder of the season or waive him.
The Hawks will play up to six games over the next 10-day period, so look for Nunnally to get some playing time.
