Air Force Keeps San Jose State Winless In Conference Play

The Air Force Falcons unleashed a 15-4 run late in the second half to pull away from the San Jose State Spartans Wednesday night at Clune Arena in Colorado Springs for a 77-62 win.

The Spartans (6-11, 0-5 Mountain West) led 35-33 at the half but remained winless in conference play.

Tre’ Coggins scored 27 points and had three steals for Air Force, including hitting 5-of-8 from 3-point land. Marek Olesinski was also 5-for-8 from deep and scored 19 points, while Kamryn Williams scored 11 points and blocked three shots. Justin Hammond had eight rebounds and Max Yon dished six assists.

Rashad Muhammad scored 12 points for San Jose State. Jaleel Williams added 11 points and five rebounds and Chris Cunningham also scored 11 points. D.J. Brown had four assists and four steals and Jalen James also dished out four dimes.

San Jose State was 22-for-52 (42.3 percent) overall, 6-for-19 (31.6 percent) from 3-point range and 12-for-16 (75 percent) at the foul line. Air Force was 25-for-44 (56.8 percent), 12-for-26 (46.2 percent) and 15-for-19 (78.9 percent).

The Falcons out-rebounded the Spartans 34-21, but turned the ball over 23 times to 16 for the Spartans.

San Jose State visits Wyoming on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is 1 p.m. Pacific.
