Linebacker Sio Moore, a third-round pick of the Oakland Raiders in last May’s draft, and Eric Reid, taken 18th overall by the San Francisco 49ers, were named to the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team.
The PFWA made the announcement via its website on Tuesday.
Moore played in 15 games and started 11 of them, with 55 tackles, 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble. His 4.5 sacks ranked fourth in the NFL among rookies.
Moore was the NFL Rookie of the Week in Week 8 after logging eight tackles and 1.5 sacks in a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 27.
Moore played four years at the University of Connecticut, where he amassed 274 tackles and 16 sacks in 41 career games. He also had four interceptions and led the Big East Conference with 11 passes defended as a senior in 2012.
Reid had four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and 87 tackles, starting all 16 games for the 49ers. He also defended 12 passes.
In three seasons at LSU, Reid had six interceptions.
The PFWA named Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy as its Rookie of the Year and also honored San Diego Chargers receiver Keenan Allen and Buffalo Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso as offensive and defensive rookies of the year, respectively.
