Stanford All-America David Yankey Declares For NFL Draft

Stanford All-America offensive lineman David Yankey has decided to skip his final year of eligibility and will enter the NFL Draft.

According to a release from the university, Yankey is on track to graduate this sprint with a degree in science, technology and society.”

“I reached my decision following conversations with family and coaches and am greatly looking forward to the next chapter in life,” Yankey said. “The decision was not easy. I have loved my time at Stanford and am a proud member of Nerd Nation. I am humbled at the prospect of joining a long list of Stanford alumni currently playing in the NFL.”

Yankey is Stanford’s eighth unanimous All-America, being named to every major All-America team at left guard last season. He was a consensus selection at left tackle in 2012.

ESPN.com has Yankey rated third among guards and 64th overall among draft prospects. According to the website’s scouting report, Yankey rates as exceptional for his intangibles and awareness and above average as a run blocker.
