Freshman guard Jabari Bird, who has missed the last four games for the Cal Golden Bears after spraining an ankle on Dec. 22 at Creighton, returned to practice on Monday and will likely play Wednesday when the Washington Huskies visit Haas Pavilion, according to a report.
CBSSports.com, citing a school spokesman, reported the development late Monday.
Bird, who was ranked as the No. 14 incoming freshman in this year’s recruiting class by CBSSports.com, averaged 11.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game through the Golden Bears’ first 12 games this season, nine of which he started.
Bird is shooting 41.9 percent overall, 40 percent from 3-point range and 85.7 percent from the foul line.
The Golden Bears are 12-4 overall and are off to a 3-0 start in Pac-12 play. Cal has won four straight games overall.
