Report: San Francisco 49ers Assistants Greg Roman, Jim Tomsula To Interview With Minnesota

According to a report, San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman and defensive line coach Jim Tomsula are both scheduled to interview this weekend for the vacant Minnesota Vikings’ head coaching job.

ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter reported that Roman is scheduled to interview Saturday, one day prior to the 49ers’ NFC Divisional Playoff at Carolina.

Roman also interviewed on Monday for the head coaching position at Penn State, a job that went to former Vanderbilt coach James Franklin on Saturday, according to reports.

Roman has never been a head coach at any level and has been the offensive coordinator for the 49ers since 2011.

Tomsula has been defensive line coach with the 49ers since 2007 and won his lone game as interim head coach after Mike Singletary was fired near the end of the 2010 season.

Tomsula was also head coach of the Rhein Fire in now-defunct NFL Europe in 2006, going 6-4.
