Report: Dennis Allen Will Be Back As Oakland Raiders Head Coach In 2014

According to a report, Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis has confirmed that head coach Dennis Allen will be back with the team for a third season in 2014. reported Davis confirming that he met with Allen Tuesday night, with sources reporting his job was never in serious doubt.

Allen is 8-24 in his first two years in Oakland, going 4-12 each season. But with a plethora of salary cap space to be available for the first time since Allen arrived, the Raiders will be expected to be more competitive moving forward.

Allen signed a four-year deal as head coach after the 2011 season, coming over from the Denver Broncos, where he had been the defensive coordinator for one season.

Allen represented a chance in style for Raider coaches; he is the first defensive coach to get the head coaching job since John Madden was hired in 1969.

It’s done, expect change and it will come. Reggie McKenzie is on the hot seat now! He better put the fire under his scouts and support team and use that cap space and the draft picks to put some talent on this team!

  • Chris Rodrigues

I knew he was going to stay. He had nothing but second stringers playing defense. Things will change next year and it will be for the better with DA at the helm. #RAIDERNATION
