Nice to see that there are some San Francisco 49ers who are actually motivated today. NaVorro Bowman, the 49ers best defensive player said that SF’s defense is healthier and better than it was last year and they have a good shot to go far in the playoffs. At this time of year, last year, the Niners were weakened defensively.

According to Bowman, things have changed since then it’s going to be a better defensive effort than last year. This is a statement because the Niners played pretty well on the defensive end in the 2012 postseason.

Bowman is arguably the Niners’ most important defensive piece, so as a team and for the fans, it’s encouraging to hear him say this. He’s been playing at an elite level this year, ranking fifth in the NFL with 124 sacks. Bowman certainly has a case here, and if he thinks the Niners are going to be even better than last year defensively, then all they really need to do is step up their offensive game and they’ll be almost unstoppable.
