The Oakland Raiders placed cornerback D.J. Hayden on injured reserve today, ending his rookie season.
The move was reported via Twitter by ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Raiders have placed first-round pick, CB DJ Hayden, on IR.

Hayden hasn’t played in the Raiders’ last two games after straining his groin in practice on Nov. 6. The 12th overall pick out of Houston had one interception and two passes defensed along with a forced fumble and 26 tackles in the eight games in which he played.
Also on Wednesday, the San Francisco Chronicle’s Vic Taier reported via Twitter that the quarterback situation may be shaking itself out:
First snaps go to McGloin
— Vic Tafur (@VicTafur) November 20, 2013
No surprise there. McGloin played well enough last Sunday to earn another look as the starter, particularly given the dumpster fire that has been Terrelle Pryor’s last four games (eight interceptions, one touchdown pass).
In some other roster-related moves, Steve Corkran of the Bay Area News Group tweeted this:
The #Raiders also activated linebacker Miles Burris to the 53-man roster, as expected, and re-signed defensive end Brian Sanford.

As we pointed out on Tuesday when the Raiders cut Martez Wilson, a corresponding move to activate Burris was likely.
