The hits keep on coming for Stanford basketball coach Johnny Dawkins, at least on the recruiting trail.
The Cardinal landed a fourth top 100 recruit on Wednesday, according to CBSSports.com. Dorian Pickens, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Phoenix was waiting to see if he would be accepted academically and azcentral.com reported Wednesday that Pickens got the news he was waiting for.
Pickens is ranked No. 98 by 247Sports Composite. A star at Pinnacle High School, Dawkins is thought of as one of the better shooters in next year’s freshman class, with a quick release and the ability to pull up and hit jumpers.
Also committed to Stanford for next year are power forward Reid Travis from Minneapolis, ranked No. 35 by 247Sports Composite, along with big man Michael Humphrey from Phoenix (No. 78) and point guard Robert Cartwright of Pasadena (No. 81).
247Sports Composite has Stanford’s incoming class ranked 12th in the nation, even as Dawkins is reportedly under an NCAA tournament berth or else edict in his sixth season on The Farm.
