No. 3 Stanford Cruises Past UC Davis On Ogwumike Double-Double

Chiney Ogwumike scored 28 points and yanked down 15 rebounds and No. 3 Stanford rolled to a workmanlike 66-48 win over UC Davis at Maples Pavilion Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinal (3-1) went on an 11-0 run over a three-minute span midway through the first half to create some separation from the Aggies (0-3), but UC Davis hung around and were within single digits until Stanford scored the final six points of the first half to take a 34-20 lead. The Cardinal led by as many as 21 in the second half.

Amber Orrange added 10 points for the Cardinal, while Ogwumike also blocked three shots.

As one would expect in a matchup between a top-five ranked team and a Big West opponent, Stanford dominated the points in the paint by a 34-12 edge and outrebounded the Aggies 49-37.

For UC Davis, Sydnee Fipps scored 14 points. Kelsey Harris paced the Aggies with seven rebounds and Brianna Salvatore snagged four steals.

Next up for Stanford is a visit to Texas (2-0) on Saturday in Austin. Tipoff is 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
