Oakland Raiders Claim Martez Wilson

The Oakland Raiders and General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced Wednesday that they have claimed linebacker Martez Wilson off of waivers from the New Orleans Saints. To make room for him the Raiders subsequently waived defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi.

This season, Wilson, a 2011 third-round pick out of Illinois, has appeared in four game for the Saints and posted four tackles and one sack. In his career Wilson has appeared in 33 games, starting in just one. During that span he has 30 tackles (21 solo), five sacks, two passes defended, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Bilukidi, who was originally drafted by the Raiders in the sixth round of the 2012 draft, has totaled five tackles and one sack for Oakland this season in five games.  In his last two games, however, Bikukidi has failed to register anything on the scoresheet.

Last season Bilukidi appeared in 13 games last season for the ‘Silver and Black’ and totaled eight tackles (five of them solo) as well as one pass defended.
