It did not take long for Matt Flynn to find another team because the free-agent signed with the Buffalo Bills after a Monday morning workout.
The Bills have been plauged by injuries all season at the quarterback position. Most recently, starting quarterback Thad Lewis sprained his knee and his availability to play this coming Sunday is unknown. Lewis was also just activated from the practive squad before his start on Sunday.
Rookie E.J. Manuel suffered an injury earlier in the season but is still out indefinitely. The other available guy at the position, Jeff Tuel, was leapfrogged by Lewis for the start this week. Dennis Dixon currently resides on the practice squad.
Flynn’s workout with the Bills was prior to Sunday’s game and was more of a backup plan depending on how Thad Lewis performed. Well, the worst of the worst happened with the injury, and now it looks as if the Bills do not want to take any chances.
Flynn finds himself in a decent spot for now and while he might not start for a few weeks while he learns the system, could have a chance if injuries continue to deplete Buffalo’s quarterbacks. However, Flynn could easily find himself the number two quarterback on the roster and would be one injury away from being back on the field as a starter.
