The San Francisco 49ers (2-2) will take on the Houston Texans (2-2) at Candlestick Park on Sunday night in a primetime matchup.
The 49ers will be looking to start a winning streak after displaying inconsistency thus far through their first four games. They won their home opener against the Packers, but were crushed the next two weeks by the Seahawks and Colts before beating the Rams last Thursday on the road.
Facing a tough Texans squad will surely be a challenge for Colin Kaepernick and company. The Texans are clearly looking for redemption after giving away a win last week to the Seahawks. Late in the game with a 20-13 lead, quarterback Matt Shaub threw a pick-six interception to Richard Sherman that sent the game to overtime, where Seattle eventually took the victory.
The 49ers will have to deal with Texans’ defensive end J.J. Watt, who is no doubt a force to be reckoned with. Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 289 pounds, Watt had a dominant season last year and will be in Kaepernick’s grill all game long. It is up to the 49ers’ offensive line to stop him, and on the other end of the ball, the defense will look to contain Arian Foster and Andre Johnson.
