Sure, the A’s are in the Division Series against Detroit for the second straight year. Their journey to get here, though, was much different.
There was no heart-pumping, last-game AL West title. Oakland won it this time around with a week to go. The platoon system is no longer strange and new; it’s now standard procedure, albeit with a few tweaks. And players found in unusual spots are the new norm, such as Opening Night starter Brett Anderson in the bullpen.
This is the fully upgraded Oakland A’soperating system.

Pryor’s return to the Oakland Raiders starting line-up Sunday is great news to a franchise looking to be rejuvenated. The dismal play last week of journeyman Matt Flynn has proven that Pryor is Oakland’s only hope.
The Raiders have shown some signs of great football when a healthy Pryor is under center and hope to continue the large improvement their offense has shown glimpses of with his return.
A healthy Darren McFadden returning to the mix would take a large load off of Pryor. The Raiders were the top-ranked rushing team in the league through the first two weeks with an electric Pryor and hard-running McFadden.

The San Francisco 49ers should trade running back LaMichael James to thePhiladelphia Eagles.
James would be reunited with his college coach, Chip Kelly. Kelly’s offense in Philadelphia has yet to get up to full speed. Perhaps inserting a former Duck such as James in the lineup would ignite it. Perhaps the Eagles would give the 49ers a valuable pick for James.
Right now, James isn’t giving the 49ers a lot of value. And it seems like he is frustrated.CSNBayArea.com reported James posted a tweet saying he was unhappy being “insurance” and then he deleted it.
