Last week, the San Francisco 49ers halted one team’s quest for revenge. This time, they will play a different role.
The 49ers and Seattle Seahawks will be squaring off tonight at 8:20 PM ET on NBC, renewing an NFC West rivalry that has ascended to the top of the league. Both teams are incredible, and both have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations.
San Francisco will be led by Colin Kaepernick, who shredded a talented Green Bay Packers defense last year with 412 passing yards and three touchdowns. Kaepernick struggled in Seattle last year, but he is more mature and can handle the crowd noise.
The 49ers lost 42-13 last year, but the game could be extremely different this year. Seattle is missing their best pass-rusher in Chris Clemons, and it’s missing another stud in Bruce Irvin. In addition, Percy Harvin is out.
With Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis catching passes, the 49ers have a legitimate shot at victory. Both teams will go all-out, and the result will be a great game.
I think the 49ers will squeak out a 28-24 victory, but this game can go either way. Just expect one of the best games of the year no matter who wins.
