Want to play for an NBA D-League team? Want the shot to possibly compete for an NBA roster spot on the Sacramento Kings? Well, the Kings D-League affiliate, the Reno Bighorns are holding open tryouts. Here are some of the details per the release on the Bighorns site:

The Reno Bighorns will hold open tryouts for the 2013-14 season October 13th in Reno at the South Reno Athletic Club and on October 20th in Sacramento at the Kings practice facility.

“We are looking for that diamond in the rough,” said Bighorns Owner, Herb Santos, Jr. “This is your chance to show what you can do in front of Reno Bighorns and Sacramento Kings coaching staff.”

“Every year there are open tryout players that are impactful in the D-League,” said Bighorns head coach Joel Abelson. “It’s important for us to find players of that caliber this season.”

Although he didn’t tryout with the Bighorns, NBA sensation, “Linsanity” Jeremy Lin flourished in Reno when he was assigned to the D-League team in 2011, before being called back up to the NBA with the Golden State Warriors. The rest was history, as they say, when he joined the New York Knicks and dazzled the NBA world.
