The Giants and A’s may still be in the midst of their seasons, but the MLB schedule makers have already finished up the tentative plan for 2014.
The Giants will open the season with seven straight games on the road against the Dodgers and Diamondbacks, and they will be tested with 10-game road trips in the months of May and August. In terms of interleague play, the Giants will be facing all five teams in the AL Central, including a rematch of the 2012 World Series when they take on the Tigers. The will finish off the season with a road-heavy schedule in the month of September.
Meanwhile, the A’s will get to open the season with seven consecutive home games against the Indians and Mariners. Curiously enough, they will not be opening against the Mariners for the first time in four years. The A’s will face all five teams in the NL East for interleague play, and will welcome in the Yankees and Red Sox to the Coliseum in June. Unlike the Giants, the A’s will get the luxury of finishing the season with a home-heavy schedule.
The Bay Bridge series between the Giants and the A’s will take place from July 7-10. The A’s will host the first two games, then the Giants will be the home team for the final two contests.
