Raiders Look to Create New Identity, Begin Season Against Colts

The Oakland Raiders have a lot of things to look forward to this upcoming season.

Terrelle Pryor will be the starting quarterback and they have a lot of new and promising pieces that have been added to the team this offseason. Rookies like Sio Moore and D.J Hayden will be looking to make their mark while newly-acquired veterans like Nick Roach and Charles Woodson are looking to add to their legacy.

Head coach Dennis Allen will be leading this team out on the field in hopes of proving many people wrong. Many have written off the Raiders this year as one of the worst teams in the league, but there is hope that they can break the insignia.

Their first game of the season will be up against the Indianapolis Colts and second-year phenom Andrew Luck.

Luck, the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, is the quarterback of the future for the Colts and he has really impressed with this time thus far in the league. He has already built a strong connection with his top receiver in Reggie Wayne, and they are one of the most lethal combos in the league.

If Oakland wants to start the season on the right foot then they are going to need a huge game from their starting quarterback. Pryor must be able to make plays with his feet throughout the game, as the Raiders’ offensive line has got to be one of the worst in the NFL. If the receivers can step up and make some plays then it will make Pryor’s job a lot easier and they will be able to create some momentum and put points on the board.

The game should be a good one, as the Colts look to start their season the right way and head back to the postseason, while the Raiders are trying to make a new name for themselves.

The game will start at 10 AM PT on CBS and should be an exciting one.
