The San Francisco 49ers have posted their unofficial depth chart for their week one matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Looking it over, everything is pretty much on par with what we expected with the exception of a few battles that were left to be won or lost.
You can view the whole thing on the 49ers website here. I will just list a few of the positions that stand out below.
Wide Receiver 1: Anquan Boldin, Marlon Moore, Jon Baldwin
Wide Receiver 2: Kyle Williams, Quinton Patton, Chris Harper
Left Corner Back: Carlos Rogers, Tramaine Brock
Right Corner Back: Tarell Brown, Nnamdi Asomugha, Perish Cox
First, we see that Kyle Williams is listed as the starter opposite of Anquan Boldin, with Marlon Moore, who was starting during the preseason, is slotted behind Boldin on the depth chart. On the other side, behind Williams is rookie stand out Quinton Patton.
At corner both Carlos Rogers and Tarell Brown are starting with Tramaine Brock and Nnamdi Asomugha listed evenly as the third corner. So, as of now, that nickel corner position may still not be solved.
Also, as far as kick and punt returning duties go, LaMichael James is still listed as the starter at both positions even though he is questionable for this Sunday’s game. Kyle Williams is listed as the backup for both positions while Perrish Cox is third on the depth chart there.
