“Who? Oh yeah, that other NorCal NBA team that’s terrible.”
This right here, folks, is a fan negative fan’s perspective of another team if you’re a fan of the Golden State Warriors. In all honesty, however, Warrior fans don’t care for the Kings too much. The only good thing about them, according to the fans, is that they actually have people that will support the Warriors up there.
Not that the Warriors fans hate the Kings, but the Warriors fans hate the kings. There’s no other way to say it. The Kings and the Warriors are two squads, whether good or bad, who have been battling each other for years. No matter which team seems to have the edge, the game always comes down to the closing seconds, and usually ends up going into overtime. When that happens, a rivalry forms, and one teams’ fans begin to hate the opposing team. Can you blame them?
It’s not exactly a surprise. The Kings are one of the worst NBA teams right now. The Warriors, however, are just finding their way to greatness, and are going to finish a couple spots ahead of Sacramento in the division alone. The Kings may seem to be turning it around now, but I guarantee you that they won’t make the playoffs this year.
From my point of view, I don’t hate the Kings. If they do indeed make the playoffs, as a Warrior fan, I’ll be happy for them. What some Warrior fans do is ignore the Kings and say, “If they’re good, then we’ll support them. They’re the second team that that we’ll follow.”
In actuality, however, this almost never turns out to be the case. The Warriors are almost always in a stalemate with the Kings, which one team usually wins by less than five points. It’s always been like that. It’s easy to hate a team in one night just because of one game. The Warriors and the Kings have completely different fan bases, and to call either of them bandwagon would be absurd.
As for the one thing that the Kings fans thingk about Warriors fans: “Damn, their team is doing well. I can’t wait till we’re in that position.”
Indeed, Kings fans. Don’t worry, Mike Malone and the Kings are doing everything they can to bring you that good fortune. Unfortunately for you, however, Warriors’ fans have been waiting longer and are looking to add to their greatness.
Your team? You guys are just sitting there in the Pacific Division close to the bottom.
