A “new wave” has splashed in San Jose to the tune of new jerseys for the Sharks.
The team announced on Tuesday that it will have new uniforms for next season, but they look nearly the same as the old ones.
“The home jersey look is clean, focusing on the Sharks primary color, Pacific Teal,” their website states. “Orange accents were removed from the lettering and numbering as well as the arm stripes. The classic crest logo will still be the centerpiece of the jersey.”
The uniforms were designed with performance in mind as well.
“The jerseys use the Reebok Play-Dry Stretch Fabric for comfort and for temperature control,” says the release. “To decrease the weight of the jersey, the black shoulder cap was removed. The popular jumping Shark patch will remain on the shoulder. Even more weight was cut out by removing the stripes on the body of the jersey.”
In addition to playing with new jerseys, they will be playing in a renamed arena, the SAP Center.
The Sharks also announced their broadcast schedule for the upcoming season. 77 games will be seen on Comcast Sportsnet California, while five will be on national television. Those games will be Oct. 15 at St. Louis, Jan. 5 at Chicago, Jan. 27 vs. Los Angeles, Apr. 3 vs. Los Angeles and Apr. 9 at Anaheim.
