This hasn’t been a very hot topic for the Golden State Warriors this year, but the idea has been tossed around a couple of times. The Warriors reportedly offered David Lee for LaMarcus Aldrige, with a few other players in the trade, but Portland, of course, refused. It’s no secret that the Warriors are willing to make big moves to possibly put themselves at the first seed.
The question now becomes: would you trade David Lee?
It may not be be such a great idea, considering the Warriors situation, but it’s not the worst idea. The Warriors have a solid bench because they made some good moves this offseason. They could, however, trade for more bench depth and have two unstoppable units.
Instead of bringing Harrison Barnes off the bench, have him bulk up and play the power forward position just like he did against the Nuggets. The small ball lineup has proven to be effective for the Warriors.
Lee and Stephen Curry are two All-Stars in Golden State, but trading Lee for someone who could possibly average 18 points per game off the bench could be very advantageous. For fans, it may not be the smartest idea, but it’s an idea. Bob Myers, I’m sure, wouldn’t be opposed to it.
