Darius Fleming missed the 2012 season, so he was eager to return in 2013. Unfortunately for him, he won’t be able to return.

Fleming tore his ACL again, the same one that forced him to miss the 2012 season. According to Niners Nation, the 49ers signed Travis Johnson to replace Fleming on the roster. In addition, they waived the injury-prone Fleming.

Johnson was signed as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State. He picked up 13 sacks for San Jose State last year, while Fleming didn’t register a tackle in the NFL. In his senior season at Notre Dame, he picked up 3.5 sacks and 54 tackles. Fleming posted 5.5 sacks in his junior season.
