San Francisco Giants Want Everyone to #VotePence

One could say that Hunter Pence’s emotional speech before Game 3 of the NLDS saved their season, as the inspired San Francisco Giants miraculously won three straight games on the road to advance in the postseason.

Now, as Pence is part of the NL Final Vote for the All-Star team, the Giants’ PR department is doing everything in its power to help Pence make the squad.

That includes pulling out old video of Pence’s teammates imitating his inspirational speeches. The clip below was actually recorded last year, but the Giants are re-releasing it anyway:

While Pence is great at being emotional and inspiring, he isn’t exactly a worthy All-Star candidate. Keep in mind that he’s hitting .264 on team that’s 10 games below .500, last place in the NL West, and were just swept by the Mets, of all teams.

Even if he was a worthy candidate, Pence is highly unlikely to come out on top of the Final Vote, as the Dodgers’ Cuban sensation Yasiel Puig is in the running as well, and odds are that most people will want to see him in the Midsummer Classic.

But, the Giants PR department doesn’t care. They’re telling everyone to just #VotePence, #VotePence, and #VotePence.

And if you didn’t quite get that, #VotePence.

Because there’s nothing like using social media to help an undeserving guy make the All-Star team.
