Former Oakland Raider cornerback Charles Woodson is a now free agent, and fans want him back in the Silver and Black.
In fact, they want him so badly that apparently several loyal fans plan to show up at Raiders headquarters on Tuesday, when Woodson is slated to visit with the team.
Fans took to Twitter and even started a Facebook page inviting people to show up and welcome Woodson.
The veteran cornerback has received offers from the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos, and there could be more teams interested in his services.
A 14-year veteran, Woodson was drafted by the Raiders and spent eight seasons in Oakland before moving on to Green Bay. He was the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1998.
He has received numerous accolades throughout his career as an eight-time Pro Bowler, seven-time All-Pro member and Super Bowl champion. Woodson was also the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2009. Woodson’s productivity has declined in recent seasons, however. He appeared in just seven games last season, recording 25 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one interception.
Woodson was released by the Packers earlier this offseason and has had difficulty attracting any teams to sign him until now.
Will the Raiders fans force him to sign a contract before he leaves his visit?
According to former Raiders cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke, he very well could:
Man if the raiderfans be at the Alameda facility waiting on Charles Woodson.. I’m willing to bet he leave there a raider.
