San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is not shying away from the spotlight that comes with being a star NFL quarterback.
ESPN The Magazine launches its fifth Body Issue this year, an annual celebration of the athletic form featuring athletes from across the world of sports. This year’s Body Issue will hit newsstands July 12 and Kaepernick will be featured in the issue.
“Being selected by ESPN the Magazine for the Body Issue is an incredible honor,” Kaepernick said. “Thank you for believing in me, my 49ers family, and my INK!”
This offseason, Kaepernick has “Kaepernicked” with First Lady Michelle Obama, signed an endorsement with British car manufacturer Jaguar, and received some new tattoos.
In the magazine, Kaepernick’s tattoos — which all have a significant meaning — will be on full display.
However, all of this activity has not stopped him from his regular training regiment. A week after the 49ers lost in the Super Bowl, Kaepernick was back at work in the gym, even turning down invitations to attend the Grammys and Oscars, as well as appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
