It’s the question that everyone pretends not to care about, but really intrigues us all: where will Tim Tebow play next season?
After being cut from the New York Jets, Tebow is job-hunting and as of now, has no suitors.
According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Tebow would “like to go where he can sit, learn behind great quarterback and coach.”
Based on that statement, several teams stand out, including the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots. Both teams have franchise quarterbacks in Drew Brees and Tom Brady, so Tebow would likely be warming the bench for the entire season.
Although they claim that they are uninterested, the San Francisco 49ers would be a logical fit for Tebow, who runs the wildcat offense quite effectively (in fact, it may be the only play he can run). Imagine Colin Kaepernick taking a breather after a 30-yard scramble, then have Tebow come in and run it for 30 more yards. (probability of that happening: 0.001%. Amount of fun just to talk about it: 110%).
The Oakland Raiders may also be an option. GM Reggie McKenzie says that he wants to have four quarterbacks on the roster, and as of now they have three rather unproven ones in Matt Flynn, Terrelle Pryor, and the newly-drafted Tyler Wilson. Not sure if Tebow qualifies as a “quarterback,” but hey, he has more playoff wins than all three of the Raiders’ current QB’s…combined.
