Did George Karl Call Festus Ezeli an A-Hole?

This first round matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets has suddenly become chippy and intense, with both teams calling out each other after a physical Game 5 in Denver.

One comment that drew intrigue came from Nuggets’ head coach George Karl, who allegedly called Warriors’ center Festus Ezeli an “a-hole.”

However, that was not the case, according to Ric Bucher:

What Karl said, in reference to Ezeli, is that he “really blossomed into an elbow and asshole guy.” The expression I have to believe he was reaching for was “assholes and elbows,” which means to be busy or, in some cases, to create panic and confusion.

Judging by the nasty comments that have been thrown around following Game 5, it’s not a surprise that Karl’s comments would be taken out of context.

Quite a big difference between an insult and a compliment, eh?
