San Francisco 49ers’ LB Patrick Willis Restructures Contract

The San Francisco 49ers restructured the contract of linebacker Patrick Willis that will save them more than $1.2 million in salary cap space, according to CSN’s Matt Maiocco. 

“Willis agreed to have $1.687 million of his scheduled 2013 base salary of $2.4 million converted to a signing bonus that can be prorated over the final four years of Willis’ contract,” the report states. “His new 2013 base salary of $715,000 also becomes fully guaranteed.”

Willis was signed to a seven-year, $53.51 million contract in 2010.
