The Oakland Raiders were definitely active in the first round, trading down and selecting CB D.J. Hayden.

Here is a simple breakdown of what they did in the first round:

  • Traded third overall pick to the Miami Dolphins for 12th and 42nd selections.
  • Drafted CB D.J. Hayden out of Houston at No. 12.

    In Reggie we trust. I would have preferred a DT Franchise player like Floyd or Star, but Reggie has forgotten more about football than the most rabid fan knows. Picking up another pick in the second round was huge. I would have liked one in the 5th to go with it.

    Of course it was a gamble, but what draft pick isn’t ? The kid has skills, and he has something to prove. That’s why Reggie got him. Great pick in a weak draft class. Getting 42 is just icing on the cake.
